Honda dominate German MotoGP qualifying
TEAMCAR - Honda dominated qualifying for the German MotoGP race by claiming the first three places on the grid for tomorrow's race at the Sachsenring.Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa, winner of the previous round at Donington Park, set the quickest time with a lap of one minute 21.815 seconds as defending champion Valentino Rossi continued to struggle.
Spaniard Pedrosa led home the Honda-powered Team Roberts machine of Kenny Roberts Jr and his fellow American Nicky Hayden on the second Repsol Honda.
But Rossi, who is not a fan of the Sachsenring circuit, was well off the pace in 11th, with Britain's James Ellison in 18th on the Tech 3 Yamaha.
Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo took pole position for the 250cc race on the Fortuna Aprilia as Britain's Dan Linfoot was 23rd on the Teng Tools Winona Racing Honda.
The Czech Republic's Lukas Pesek will begin the 125cc race from pole position and Britain's Bradley Smith, who scored his first world championship points at Donington, was 14th-quickest.
