Hayden owns home Grand Prix in Laguna Seca
TEAMCAR - Nicky Hayden proved today that the Laguna Seca circuit is definetily his home track as he achieved victory today in the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, eleventh round of the of the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix (MotoGP). Hayden`s teammate, Dani Pedrosa, and Marco Melandri completed the full Honda podium.The Kentucky boy attacked polesitter Chris Vermeulen and when he jumped to the lead, the American never left it go.
Hayden repeated last year's result after 45:04.867 of competition to take the chequered flag 3.186 over Pedrosa for the 1-2 for Repsol Honda.
Spanish ace Pedrosa was able to notch a fantastic result in his first appereance on the challenging and tricky circuit in Monterey, California.
Fortuna Honda racer Melandri took advantage of Valentino Rossi`s problems -- who retire with a mechanic failure in his Yamaha -- to add another podium this season.
After this victory, Hayden leads the championship with 34 points over Pedrosa, who jumped back to second place, while Melandri is new third leaving Rossi in fourth.
