Nissan vehicle sales fall in 3rd quarter
teamcar - Nissan/Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd's (ETCM) third quarter sales fell 13.5% to 4,756 units, from 5,496 units in the second quarter.
Nissan/ETCM said in a statement yesterday total sales for the first nine months of the year declined by 18.5% to 16,435 units compared with 20,148 units for the same period last year.
The company said despite the current challenging and competitive market, its key models
remained significant market leaders. “The Sentra still dominates the non-national 1.6 litre (petrol) passenger segment with a 72% share and the XTrail leads the non-national 4x4 station wagon 2.0-2.5 litre (petrol) segment with 48% share,” it said.
It said the XTrail NISMO Limited Edition won the mid-sized sports utility vehicle (SUV) category in the Autocar Asean Car of the Year 2005/2006 Awards.
“The XTrail won the Autocar Asean Car of the Year 2003/2004 Mid-sized SUV category ,” it said.
