Kancil, Kelisa to be Replace
TEAMCAR - A replacement model will be introduced for Kancil and Kelisa in March next year under a rationalisation of Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd’s (Perodua) existing model line-up.
UMW group chairman Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin said the production of Kancil and Kelisa would be phased out gradually after the replacement model was introduced. UMW Holdings Bhd is the major shareholder of Perodua with a 38% stake.
Asmat said the more fuel-efficient replacement model would come in different engine capacities but still below the 1-litre segment. In the past, Perodua had introduced face-lifts for Kancil and Kelisa.
Last March, Perodua launched an upgraded Kelisa model that was renamed Imago in an effort to attract urban and women drivers.
