Heavy vehicles banned from PLUS during peak hours starting August 2
29 July 2010 - In a bid to ease traffic congestion on the North-South Expressway, PLUS (Projek Lebuhraya Utara Selantan) during morning peak hours, heavy vehicles have been banned from certain stretches from August 2. According to Datuk Abdul Aziz Yusof, the reason for this is to help reduce traffic jams leading in and out of the Klang Valley.
Proton Exora Hybrid Undergoing Testing In UK
28 Jul 2010 - Proton Exora hybrids do exist after all—and some of them would be coming to Malaysia by end December or early next year, according to Proton managing director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Tahir, who made known the news at the Thailand International Motor Expo, where Exora is launched for the Thai market.
Developed in collaboration with Proton subsidiary Lotus and a number of component manufacturers, the Exora hybrids are currently being tested in the UK, before making their way here this year or next for the second stage, which involves the use of hybrid cars as government fleet vehicles, especially in Putrajaya.

24 Jul 2010 - Ferrari World Abu Dhabi announced on Monday that the park will open in 100 days featuring a record-breaking roller coaster ride meant to emulate the feeling of being in a Ferrari F1 car. The Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is located next to the futuristic Yas Marina circuit that hosted Abu Dhabi's first Grand Prix race in November 2009, and is housed under a massive triangular red roof stretching over 200,000 square meters.
Bill Gates and Vinod Khosla invests in EcoMotors
17 July 2010 - EcoMotors International has received $23.5 million from Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates and investor Vinod Khosla for engineering and testing of its trademarked Opoc engine technology. EcoMotors said in a statement today that the investment marks a key advance in commercializing its opposed piston-opposed cylinder engine. The engine maker plans to use the funds for completing testing and building demonstration units.

Proton today launched a very special version of their Neo CPS – the Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing. Priced at RM115,000 it has various equipment upgrades including a power upgrade and a new aerodynamics and styling package. The Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing is powered by the standard 1.6 liter engine coupled with a manual transmission that has been tuned to output 145 hp at 7,000 rpm and 168 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.
Biodiesel in your diesel passenger car in Malaysia
Biodiesel is supposed to be available at the pumps in stages from mid next year, but Sime Darby plantation has already started using its own blend of biodiesel called Bio-N (pronounced Beyond) in its upstream operation vehicles nearly two years ago, since March 2008. The initiative started at the East and West Estates and Mills on Carey Island and later expanded to other estates and oil mills in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.
