All New Toyota Vios 1.5G Limited & TRD Sportivo launched in Malaysia

30 June 2011 - Now, the Toyota Vios range numbers six variants. UMW Toyota Motor has launched the 2011 Toyota Vios facelift and the Toyota Vios 1.5G Limited, an all-new variant positioned between the Vios 1.5G and TRD Sportivo variants. With almost 200,000 units snapped up by Malaysians since its introduction, 33,700 units of which were sold in 2010, the Vios is Malaysia’s best-selling non-national car.

The G Limited sits between the 1.5G and the TRD Sportivo. It sports a refreshed front grille that will also appear on all Vios variants, except for the TRD Sportivo, which gets a honeycomb mesh design and TRD Sportivo logo.

The all-new Vios 1.5G Limited adds dark silver 15" alloy wheels, an aerokit (front/rear spoiler, bootlid spoiler and side skirts), a revised front grille, beige leather upholstery and chrome cabin accents to what is available on the Vios 1.5G, which also wears the new rims and revised grille. The Vios 1.5J and 1.5E have the same grille, too, but only the Vios 1.5E is offered with new dark grey-and-blue dual-tone seat fabric.

The Vios TRD Sportivo wears a chrome-surrounded, black honeycomb mesh grille, the aerokit of old, and bronze 15" alloy wheels for visual differentiation. Previously clad in fabric, the cabin now comes with black perforated leather with red stitching for the steering wheel, gear knob and seats. TRD Sportivo logo embroidery decorates the front seats.

Both the G Limited and TRD Sportivo wear aerokits to differentiate them from lesser variants – both are five-piece items consisting of front and rear spoiler, bootlid spoiler and side skirts – but the G Limited’s aerokit is a newly designed set. The Deep Amethyst Mica Metallic colour you see here on the G Limited is new; it replaces the discontinued Grey Mica Metallic. Silver Metallic, Coal Black, White and Medium Silver Metallic colours have been carried over.

All 2011 Toyota Vios variants can be selected in one of five colours: White, Coal Black, Silver Metallic, Medium Silver Metallic and Deep Amethyst Mica Metallic, the last of which is new, replacing the now-discontinued Grey Mica Metallic. The TRD Sportivo suspension kit, which improves handling and lowers the ride height by 10 mm, can now be specified with all Vios variants.

The Vios 1.5G Limited is priced at RM 89,600, while the pricing for the rest of the 2011 Toyota Vios range remains unchanged at RM 92,000 for the Vios TRD Sportivo, RM 87,300 for the Vios 1.5G, RM 81,500 for the Vios 1.5E, RM 76,090 for the Vios 1.5J, and RM 71,990 for the Vios 1.5J manual.
