Nissan Compact Sport Concept at 2011 Shanghai International Auto Show

23 April 2011 - In the 2011 Shanghai International Auto Show, Nissan unveiled a new concept model named “Compact Sport Concept”. The prototype three-door hatchback is the work of Nissan’s global design centre in Japan and the brand’s Beijing design studio in China. According to Nissan, the Compact Sport Concept is designed “for young customers in emerging countries”.

The “Compact Sport Concept” appears that the aggressively styled concept based on the Nissan’s Micra including the headlight and the two-part grille designs. The concept car is equipped with Nissan’s 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that output 190hp and mated to a CVT transmission with six-speed manual shift mode.

The interior seems to be based on the current model of Micra with adding several sporty elements such as the two tone cloth seats, a distinct instrument console, and a flat-bottomed steering wheel that slightly similar to the current Toyota Vios Facelift model.

Elsewhere, it’s all pretty much flash; the external bulges make for great eye-candy for those into such curves and flair, and the interior displays enough attention-grabbing bits too – the contrasting black and white interior features red for highlight accents and plenty of oval-shaped cues. No mention if this one will ever come into series production (the 4th-gen K13 Micra/March is only a year old, so it’s not a preview of a replacement).
